Owls Lose to Terriers in First Match of the Year

Waterville, ME – The Thomas College Terriers hosted our University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls men's soccer team in Waterville. This young Owls roster consisting of nine first years put up a hard fight vs the Terriers. Thomas would go on to win the match 3-0 on their senior day.

The Owls were in attack mode to start the game as Cristian Fonseca put a shot on goal in the first five minutes of the game. The Terriers came right back with an attack of their own with six corner kicks and a shot in the following 20 minutes of the first half. Thomas continued to attack leading to their first goal at the 35-minute mark. Another goal by the Terriers gave them a 2-0 lead before halftime.

The Terriers continued to attack in the second half, scoring one more goal before the final. Goalie John Villanueva earned the win for Thomas as three different Terriers scored.

The Owls will play the Terriers again next Saturday the 17th in Presque Isle up at Park Family Field. Time is to be determined.
