Owls Bring in Newest Recruit - Josh Henderson

Presque Isle, ME – The Owls baseball team welcomes a new recruit to their 2022-23 season! Josh Henderson out of Tonawanda, New York is set to join the Owls this upcoming fall semester.

The senior out of Kenmore East High School, plans to study Education while at UMPI. Henderson's primary position on the field is Catcher and Left Field. During his time in high school Henderson hit a .315 batting average to go along with his impressive work in the field. Henderson spoke about his excitement in finding the right school for him, "I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to play for UMPI, I am ready to work hard and meet my new teammates."

Henderson's high school coach at Kenmore East, Coach Leslie Simon, spoke highly of Josh's ability on the field. "Josh is a terrific all-around player, last year he worked himself into a full-time player. He is good offensively and solid in outfield plays multiple positions and is a great teammate."

UMPI Coach Roger Stinson talks about his excitement, bringing in his newest recruit. "I am truly excited to add josh to our family here at UMPI. I am looking forward to him coming in and fighting for a spot behind the plate. Also, knowing that he brings some outfield experience, which could open up our team with more options. Welcome to the family josh."
