Owls Bring in Florida Baseball Player for 2021 Season

Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle brings in another 2021 baseball star. Anthony Searels comes from Middleburg, Florida where he attended Middleburg High School. Searels caught for his high school team in Florida under his coach, Daniel Pearce.

"Anthony is a very high character young man with an unbelievable work ethic." Said coach Pearce, "On the field, he is a vocal leader who gives everything he has each and every game or practice. He has a large athletic frame and quick hands. He would be a great addition and asset to the program at University of Maine Presque Isle."

Anthony will look to major in Criminal Justice while attending UMPI. A quote from Anthony about attending UMPI. "I look forward to attending UMPI and continuing to hone my abilities and skill set on and off the baseball field. As well as improving as a student and athlete. I cannot wait to see what UMPI has in store for me and I cannot wait to start."

Owls head baseball coach Roger Stinson shares his excitement in adding Searels to the roster. "I am looking forward to seeing what Anthony will bring to the team. He comes from a solid travel program and a solid High School. I am expecting him to step in, accept the challenge for a spot on the field, and compete. I look forward to the competitiveness he will bring to our team."

The Owls Athletics program along with the baseball team welcome Anthony Searels to UMPI this 2021 fall season.
